Our Garden

At Chapel Hill we pride ourselves on our outside space. We have a large paddock at the rear of the property, which is surrounded by open countryside, here you will find our kitchen garden, 20ft sandpit with slide, forest school area, builders area with wheel barrows, shovels and hard hats and a shepherd’s hut. We also have 4 nursery guinea pigs, Ginger, Pig, Peanut and Pickles and 6 nursery ducks as well as a flock of sheep in the spring.

Directly to the rear of the nursery is an artificial play area, this is split into two areas, one for under two-year olds and the other for children aged 2 to 5 years old. Between this play area and the paddock is a barked play area with a play kitchen, balance beams and a large stretch tent.

Our gardener visits the nursery every other week during the spring and summer months to carry out gardening sessions with the children. The children have the opportunity to grow many fruits and vegetables such as raspberries, strawberries, potatoes, carrots, kale and herbs which will be used in cooking activities and in the children’s meals.
